This is a small literary museum in Midori, Abiko City, introducing the writers and artists connected with the magazine Shirakaba. Photographs and handwritten materials convey how, in the Taisho era, writers moved to this bluff overlooking Lake Tega (手賀沼) and visited one another constantly. The interior is compact and quiet, so there is plenty to see even in a short visit, and it is a relief that families with small children can get around it all. Step outside after the exhibits and the slope down to the lake and the stands of trees still hold the atmosphere of those days, so the walk simply continues. Spend the morning cool indoors and save your energy for the water play in the afternoon.

柏市の北柏ふるさと公園にある、無料の水遊び場「北柏ふるさと公園じゃぶじゃぶ池」です。2026年は7月17日(金)から8月31日(月)まで、9時から16時まで開放されます。8月1日(土)から3日(月)、8月17日(月)から18日(火)は休止になるので、お盆前後に出かける場合はとくに日付の確認が欠かせません。足をつけて遊ぶ施設のため、泳いだり顔を水につけたりすることはできず、60cmを超える大型の浮き輪も使えません。手賀沼の西端に広がる開けた公園で、芝生と水辺の景色が気持ちよく、家族でのんびり過ごすのに向いています。雨天や前日の豪雨で中止になることがあるため、前日からの天気も見ておきましょう。

Tips

大型浮き輪は使えないので、持っていくなら水鉄砲やバケツなど足元で遊べる道具が向いています。開けた場所で日陰が限られるため、帽子とラッシュガードで日差し対策をしてください。16時で終了なので、15時台には着替えを始めるとあわてずに済みます。水遊びのあとは体が冷えるので、乾いたタオルと着替えを多めに用意しましょう。

Tips

It is closed on Mondays (the next weekday if Monday is a public holiday). The interior is a quiet space, so telling small children about voice levels beforehand makes things go smoothly. The Site of Shiga Naoya's Residence (志賀直哉邸跡) is right nearby, so you can walk on and see it next. Parking spaces are limited, so please park according to the signs in the area.
