Yakuendai Park Wading Pool (薬円台公園 徒渉池)

About this spot

This is the free water play spot Yakuendai Park Wading Pool in Yakuendai Park in Funabashi City. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, July 18 to Sunday, September 6, in two sessions: 10:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 16:00. Because it is a shallow wading pool with a small slide, even little ones new to water can get used to it step by step. It closes when the water temperature or the air temperature is below 23 degrees Celsius, and also in bad weather or when a photochemical smog advisory is issued. Sun shelters and tents may not be set up, so take your breaks by making good use of the shade and the benches. Admission is free, and since the museum of local history and the lawn area are in the same park, you can build a whole day without leaving it.

Tips

The water is turned off from 12:00 to 13:00, so timing lunch and your break for that hour wastes no time. On days when the temperature does not rise the pool may close, so check before setting out when the morning is cool. Since you cannot pitch a tent, keep off the sun with a hat and a rash guard, and bring plenty to drink. It finishes at 16:00, so starting to get changed during the 15:00 hour lets you head home unhurried.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours 45 minutes. Arriving at 13:00 when the afternoon session opens gives you the water at its calmest before the crowds
