Next stop: Play in the water all afternoon in a shallow pool with a little slideAbout this spot
A rest area of lawn and trees spreading through the same Yakuendai Park as the wading pool. Large trees are dotted about so shade is easy to find, making it just the place to spread a picnic sheet and eat lunch even at the height of summer. There is play equipment such as slides and swings, so after eating everyone can move about a little and get ready for the water. The wading pool turns its water off from 12:00 to 13:00, so using that hour for lunch and a rest lets the day flow neatly. Assume there is no shop on site and bring your lunch and drinks with you.
Tips
Sun shelters and tents may not be set up, so the key is to claim a shady spot early. Rather than going straight into the water after eating, resting about 20 minutes before moving on is easier on the body. Restrooms are in the park. The lawn can be muddy after rain, so a mat you do not mind getting dirty is reassuring.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 15 minutes. Taking lunch in the 12:00 hour, when the wading pool pauses, keeps the day efficient
