This is the free water-play spot known as the Funabashi Sanbanze Seaside Park Fountain Plaza, in a seaside park in Funabashi City facing Sanbanze (三番瀬), a tidal flat of Tokyo Bay. Its signature feature is water shooting up in an arch over the lawn plaza, which you can run right through underneath. Unlike a pool there are no boundaries, so children can move at their own pace, running, ducking under, or lying down. You can look out at the sea from the observation deck and pass the time alongside the bustle of the barbecue area, with an openness only a seaside spot offers. Use of the park is free, while the parking lot, barbecue area, and similar facilities are charged. The 2026 operating period has not been announced; in most years it runs during the summer holidays.
