Sakatagaike Comprehensive Park Dragon's Spring and Mountain Stream Path

About this spot

This is the free water play area known as Sakatagaike Comprehensive Park Dragon's Spring and Mountain Stream Path, in Narita City. Beneath the suspension bridge called Dragon's Path lies the Dragon's Spring, where water wells up from a rock shaped like a dragon's head, and the channel that carries the water away forms the Mountain Stream Path. Because the shaping carries a story, children go up to it without needing any explanation and naturally start chasing where the water comes from and where it goes. Portable pools may not be brought in. The opening period has not been announced and in past years it has opened during the summer school holidays, so please check the official information before you head out. The forest around the pond casts shade, so you can play for a long time even in midsummer with breaks along the way.

Tips

The opening period has not been announced, so always check before you set out. Portable pools cannot be brought in, so limit your play gear to small items such as buckets and water pistols. Footing around the rocks and the channel is slippery, so water shoes that stay on your feet are reassuring. Being surrounded by forest also means mosquitoes, so bringing insect repellent will keep you comfortable.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours. The afternoon, when the shade deepens, is especially comfortable
