Sunayama Park Toddler Pool

About this spot

This is the summer-only toddler pool Sunayama Park Toddler Pool, set up in Sunayama Park in Wakayama City. In 2026 it is open from Saturday 18 July to Wednesday 12 August, from one in the afternoon to four in the afternoon. It is for children of pre-primary-school age only; primary school children and older cannot use it. A guardian must accompany them, and swimwear is required. Ordinary nappies and pull-ups cannot be used, so for children not yet out of nappies, bring swim nappies. There is no charge, so you can take the relaxed approach of watching how your child is doing and finishing early.

The pool may be closed due to rain or other weather conditions. Checking the Wakayama City information and the day's forecast before you set out gives peace of mind. The park has no car park, so use public transport or a nearby paid car park. Just after the one o'clock opening it is often relatively empty, so even children not used to water can settle in calmly. It falls in the hours when the sun is strong, so take frequent breaks in the shade and keep drinking water.
