The Ota Daiichi Park Toddler Pool is a summer-only pool for young children set up in Ota Daiichi Park in Wakayama City. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, July 18 to Wednesday, August 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It is for children below elementary school age only; elementary school children and older cannot use it. A guardian must accompany the child, and swimwear is required. Ordinary disposable nappies and training pants are not permitted, so bring swim nappies for children who are not yet out of nappies. Admission is free, and being able to play during the relatively cool morning hours is a real blessing for little ones.

Tips
The pool may be cancelled in rain or other poor weather. Checking the Wakayama City announcement and the day's forecast before you set out is reassuring. There is no car park at the park, so use public transport or a nearby paid car park. It closes at 12:30 p.m., so allow time to change and get out of the water around 12:15 p.m. to avoid a rush. Deciding on a meal spot in advance makes it easy to move straight on to lunch after playing.
