About this spot

This is the free water play area “Kimitsu Central Park Fountain Plaza,” located in the town center of Kimitsu City. The fountain runs from Saturday, July 4 through Monday, August 31, operating between 10:00 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. In July it only runs on the 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, and from the 18th onward, so if you're planning a visit in mid-July, be sure to check the dates carefully. Besides the fountain plaza, there is also a combination playground and a lawn area, so children can move at their own pace — playing on the equipment when they tire of the water, then going back to the water when they get hot again. Bare feet aren't allowed, so water shoes or sandals are a must. Admission is free, and the spot also works well if you spend the morning elsewhere and only stop by in the afternoon.

Since the fountain runs only until 2:45 p.m., arriving a little after 12:30 p.m. gives you about two hours to play. Bare feet aren't allowed, so be sure to bring water shoes or sandals that won't easily come off. The area around the fountain gets wet and slippery, so remind children not to run.
