Kimitsu Station, the gateway to Kimitsu City, is surrounded by restaurants, convenience stores, and drugstores. It's easy to find something that suits each child's taste, and convenient for picking up anything you're missing for water play — towels, drinks, sunscreen — all in one stop. The park is only a short trip away, so getting everything ready here means you won't be rushing once you arrive. Cooling off in an air-conditioned restaurant also helps everyone enjoy the afternoon's water play with more energy. Since the fountain shuts off at 2:45 p.m., the trick is to keep lunch from running long.

Tips

On weekends and holidays, restaurants get crowded around noon, so going in around 11 a.m. means you can sit down without waiting. Since the fountain only runs until 2:45 p.m., head to the park by around 12:15 p.m. at the latest. Bare feet aren't allowed in the water area, so if you don't already have water shoes or sandals, it's a good idea to pick some up here.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. To avoid the crowds, it's most comfortable to arrive between 11:00 and 11:30 a.m.
