Domeki Park Seseragi Stream
About this spot
The Domeki Park Seseragi Stream in Sodegaura City is a free water play area where groundwater drawn from an artesian well is channelled through a natural-stone streambed. Because it uses groundwater rather than tap water, it feels chilly even at the height of summer, and the surprise of that first step in is an experience unique to this park. The current runs over arranged stones, so the movement of the water varies, and children can find their own ways to play by damming it or building channels. There are also large play equipment and a lawn plaza, so when they get cold they can warm up on the playground and when they get hot they can go back into the water, and the play never stops all day. Use is free, the 2026 opening period has not been announced, and in most years the water flows during the summer holidays. Note that the summer outdoor pool is a separate facility, so be careful not to mistake your destination.

Tips
Because the opening period has not been announced, check the Sodegaura City information for that day's water status before you set out. Groundwater is cold, so small children should come out of the water often to warm up rather than staying in too long. Natural stones are slippery and have sharp edges, so water shoes or sandals are safer than bare feet. Prepare swim nappies for children who are not yet out of nappies, and rinse everyone's feet thoroughly after playing.
Best time to visit
