This is a seaside park in Sodegaura City facing Tokyo Bay. The sea opens up beyond a wide lawn, and you can take in a view unique to this area, with the townscape of the opposite shore and a line of factories stretching along it. Because it is an open place with nothing to block the view, the wind blows through and the seaside feels a little cooler even in high summer. There are benches and lawns, making it an ideal spot to spread out a leisure sheet and eat your lunch box. On a day with water play ahead in the afternoon, the right balance is not to eat too much here and not to let your body get too cold.

袖ケ浦市の「百目木公園せせらぎ」は、自噴井戸からくみ上げた地下水を自然石の流れに通している無料の水遊び場です。水道水ではなく地下水を使っているため、真夏でもひんやりとした感触があり、足を入れた瞬間の驚きがこの公園ならではの体験になります。石を組んだ流れなので水の動きに変化があり、せき止めたり水路を作ったりと、子どもが自分で遊び方を見つけられます。大型遊具と芝生広場もそろっていて、体が冷えたら遊具で温まり、暑くなったらまた水へ、と1日中遊びが途切れません。利用は無料で、2026年の開設期間は未発表、例年は夏休み期間に水が流れます。なお夏季の屋外プールは別施設なので、目的地を取り違えないよう注意してください。

Tips

開設期間が未発表のため、出かける前に袖ケ浦市の案内で当日の通水状況を確認してください。地下水は冷たいので、小さな子は長時間つかりすぎないよう、こまめに上がって体を温めましょう。自然石は滑りやすく角もあるため、素足ではなくマリンシューズやサンダルが安心です。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意し、遊んだあとは足をよく洗い流してください。

Tips

There is little shade, so a hat and sunscreen are essential. It is close to the sea and the wind can be strong on some days, so weights for your leisure sheet are reassuring. Always take your rubbish home with you. Spots with the best views can be right by the railings, so do not take your eyes off small children. Checking where the toilets are when you arrive lets you relax afterwards.
