A department store adjoining JR Wakayama Station (JR和歌山駅), with a restaurant floor and a food hall. Even when children's tastes differ, there are plenty of choices, so it is an easy lunch spot for the whole family to agree on. The air conditioning also makes it just the right place to cool down after walking outside. Ahead of the afternoon water play, you can also pick up towels, drinks, swim diapers, and anything else you need here. There is a baby care room, which is a help for families with infants.

Venue: 和歌山市・新南公園

和歌山市の新南公園に開設される、夏季限定の幼児プール「新南公園幼児プール」です。2026年は7月18日(土)から8月12日(水)まで、午後1時から午後4時まで開設されます。対象は小学校就学前の幼児のみで、小学生以上は利用できません。保護者の同伴が必須で、水着の着用が必要です。水遊び用以外の紙おむつ・紙パンツでは利用できないため、おむつが取れていない子には水遊び用おむつを用意してください。料金は無料なので、様子を見ながら短時間で切り上げるという気軽な使い方ができるのもありがたいところです。

Tips

雨天等の気象状況により中止する場合があります。出発前に和歌山市の案内と当日の天気を確認しておくと安心です。公園に駐車場はないため、公共交通機関または近隣の有料駐車場を利用してください。午後1時の開設直後は比較的空いていることが多く、水に慣れていない子でも落ち着いて入れます。日差しの強い時間帯なので、木陰での休憩と水分補給をこまめにはさみましょう。

Tips

Restaurants get crowded around noon on weekends and holidays, so arriving in the late 11 o'clock hour or just before 1 p.m. makes it easier to get a table. Business hours differ by floor, so check the official website in advance. To match the 1 p.m. pool opening, starting to move by around 12:50 p.m. gives you just the right timing.
