A local department store long loved in the heart of Kumagaya. With restaurant floors and a food hall, its strength is how easy it is for families to find something everyone wants to eat. The air-conditioned building is just the right rest stop for cooling down once during midsummer in Kumagaya, a city famous for its heat. Buying any towels, changes of clothes and drinks you still need for the afternoon water play here means no scrambling once you reach the park. Even simply browsing the local sweets and specialities gives you a feel for Kumagaya.

熊谷市の熊谷スポーツ文化公園にある「熊谷スポーツ文化公園親水広場」です。2026年は7月18日(土)から8月31日(月)まで、10:00〜16:00の時間帯に開かれます。8月4日(火)は休みで、悪天候の日も休みになります。利用は無料で、隣に遊具のそろった子供の広場があるため、水と遊具を行き来しながら長く遊べるのが魅力。日本一暑い町として知られる熊谷にあって、夏休みのあいだだけ開かれる貴重な水辺です。開放は1か月半ほどと短いので、行きたい日は早めに押さえておきましょう。

Tips

8月4日(火)は休みなので、その日は避けて計画してください。悪天候の日も休みになるため、当日の天気が不安なときは公園の公式サイトで確認を。熊谷の真夏は気温が非常に高くなるので、日よけのテントやこまめな水分補給を忘れずに。水遊び後は水道で足をよく洗いましょう。終了は16:00なので、15時半をめどに片づけ始めると余裕があります。

Tips

Restaurants get crowded around noon on weekends and holidays, so going in before noon or shifting to after 13:00 cuts the wait. Picking up cold drinks and ice packs here in preparation for the afternoon helps guard against heatstroke. The park is about 15 minutes away by car.
