The Musashi Kyuryo National Government Park Water Play Area, in Musashi Kyuryo National Government Park in Namegawa Town, Hiki District. In 2026 it is open from Saturday 2 May to Sunday 27 September, from 9:30 to 16:30 (closed in bad weather). The water play area itself is free; a separate park admission fee applies, at 450 yen for adults, free for junior high school students and younger, and 210 yen for seniors. Changing rooms, a first-aid station and a shop are provided, so changing clothes and sudden scrapes are easy to handle, which families appreciate. There is shade nearby, so adults can sit and watch while the children play. Because it is open for a long period from the May holidays to the end of September, you can also plan a visit in early summer or early autumn to avoid the peak heat.

Tips

It closes in bad weather, so check the park's official website for the day's status before setting out. The grounds are very large, and it is a walk from the car park to the water play area. You can change in the changing rooms, but they get busy at times, so bringing plenty of towels is reassuring. Children who are not yet out of nappies should bring swim nappies. It closes at 16:30, so starting to pack up around 16:00 leaves you plenty of time.
