Japan's first museum devoted to cartoon art, built on the site of the residence where Rakuten Kitazawa (北澤楽天), called the father of modern Japanese cartoons, spent his later years. Original satirical drawings and pen illustrations by Rakuten are on display, letting you trace where Japanese cartoons began. The building is compact and has a garden, giving it a relaxed atmosphere quite different from the bonsai museum.
