Japan's first museum devoted to cartoon art, built on the site of the residence where Rakuten Kitazawa (北澤楽天), called the father of modern Japanese cartoons, spent his later years. Original satirical drawings and pen illustrations by Rakuten are on display, letting you trace where Japanese cartoons began. The building is compact and has a garden, giving it a relaxed atmosphere quite different from the bonsai museum. For children, the very fact that cartoons are displayed in a museum is a surprise, and they look on with interest. Admission is free, so a short stop needs no hesitation.

さいたま市北区のうねうね公園にある「うねうね公園せせらぎ」です。2026年は7月1日(水)から9月30日(水)まで、9:00〜17:00の時間帯に利用できます(清掃等により利用できない場合あり)。園内の北側に浅いせせらぎが設けられていて、利用は無料。プールのように深さがないので、小さな子でも足を入れて安心して遊べます。3か月間、朝から夕方まで長く開いているのが最大の強みで、真夏を避けて9月の残暑に訪れるという選択もできます。近所の子どもたちが集まる地元の水辺なので、気負わず短時間だけ立ち寄る使い方もしやすい場所です。

Tips

清掃等により利用できない日があるため、遠方から向かう場合はさいたま市公園緑地協会の案内で当日の状況を確認しておくと安心です。更衣室の記載はないので、水着は服の下に着ていくのが確実。水遊び後は水道で足をよく洗い、木陰で休憩をはさみながら遊びましょう。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意してください。
