About this spot

A shrine long cherished as the chief guardian shrine of Tokorozawa. Although it stands in town, the grounds are ringed by large trees, and the air turns cool the moment you step inside. Walking through while teaching children how to purify their hands and how to pray makes it a memorable stop even in a short visit. Touching on the old history of this land after seeing aircraft exhibits is very much a Tokorozawa experience. A simple visit takes about 30 minutes, just the right size for a light stop before lunch.

所沢市の所沢航空記念公園にある「所沢航空記念公園むさしの川」です。2026年は5月30日(土)から9月27日(日)まで、9:00〜17:00の時間帯に稼働します。雨天等で急遽稼働が休止になる場合があるため、当日の天気には注意が必要です。利用は無料で、園内にはトイレと売店があり、広い芝生広場も隣接しています。荷物を芝生に置いて交代で見守る、水に飽きたら芝生を走り回るといった過ごし方ができるのが、大きな公園ならではの良さ。17時まで稼働するので、日差しがやわらぐ夕方の時間帯までゆっくり遊べます。

Tips

急な稼働休止があるため、公園の公式サイトの新着情報で当日の状況を確認してから出かけると安心です。更衣室の記載はないため、着替えはラッシュガードなど水着の上から羽織れるものを用意しておくとスムーズ。水遊び後は水道で足をよく洗い、木陰で休憩をはさみながら遊ぶと熱中症を防げます。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意してください。

Tips

The grounds have gravel and stone steps, so there are spots where a stroller is hard to push; a baby carrier makes moving easier. It can get crowded on festival days. There is plenty of shade, so it also helps as a resting place on hot days.
