Gyokuzoin Temple (玉蔵院)

About this spot

An ancient temple just a short walk from the west exit of Urawa Station (浦和駅). Although it stands in a town centre lined with buildings, the air changes once you pass through the temple gate and quiet precincts open up before you. The great weeping cherry tree is known as a spring highlight, but in summer its leaves grow thick and cast deep shade, so you can pass the time in comfort. A simple visit takes about 30 minutes, making it just the right size as a gateway to the day ahead. Because local people drop by here as part of daily life, you get a real sense of the calm atmosphere of the town of Urawa.

さいたま市浦和区の「天王川コミュニティ緑道じゃぶじゃぶ」です。2026年は7月14日(火)から8月30日(日)まで、9:00〜18:00の時間帯に利用できます。2026年7月13日に復旧済みで、清掃等により利用できない場合があります。せせらぎと滝のある細長い緑道という造りが特徴で、歩きながら好きな場所で水に入れるのが子どもにはたまらない楽しさ。プールのような深さがないので、小さな子でも足を入れて安心して遊べます。利用は無料で、18時まで開いているため、日が傾いてからの涼しい時間帯にもゆっくり過ごせる、地元の子どもたちが集まる身近な水辺です。

Tips

清掃等により利用できない日があるため、遠方から向かう場合はさいたま市公園緑地協会の案内で当日の状況を確認しておくと安心です。緑道は細長いので、子どもが遠くまで行かないよう見える範囲で遊ばせましょう。更衣室の記載はないので、水着は服の下に着ていくのが確実。水遊び後は水道で足をよく洗い、木陰で休憩をはさみながら遊んでください。

Tips

The precincts are a quiet place, so tell children in advance not to run around and you can relax. It is close to the station, so it is easy to reach by train. Parking is limited, so if you come by car, using a nearby car park will make things smoother.
