This is the Water and Serenity Plaza (Omiya Water Distribution Plant) Splash Pond at the Water and Serenity Plaza in Omiya-ku, Saitama City. In 2026 it runs from Wednesday 1 July to Wednesday 30 September, with the plaza open from 9:00 to 17:00 and the splash pond until 16:30. It cannot be used on Friday 24 July because of cleaning, and it also closes in bad weather and during cleaning. This is an unusual place where the upper part of a waterworks facility called the Omiya Water Distribution Plant (大宮配水場) is opened as a water-friendly park, and knowing that the workings of the water supply you never normally see lie right under your feet turns water play into a small social studies field trip. Use is free, and pets are not allowed. Because it is open for three months, it is a long-running water play spot you can still use in the lingering heat of September.

Tips

It cannot be used on Friday 24 July because of cleaning. Please avoid that day when planning. It also closes in bad weather and during cleaning, so check the situation for the day on the Saitama City official website before you set out. Note that the splash pond runs only until 16:30, finishing 30 minutes earlier than the plaza. Pets are not allowed. After playing in the water, wash feet well at the tap, and take breaks in the shade between play.
