Tenryo Hita Museum (天領日田資料館)

About this spot

Standing among the white-walled townscape of Mameda-machi (豆田町), this museum conveys the history of Hita in the era when it was directly controlled shogunate territory. Old documents, furnishings and tools handed down in merchant houses are displayed here, revealing the substance of daily life that you cannot see just by walking past the buildings of Mameda-machi. Being indoors, it also suits the hours when the sun is strongest. After the visit, have lunch near the museum and head straight into the afternoon water play. Seeing the townscape and the museum together brings the character of Hita into much sharper focus.

日田市のウッドコンビナート内にあるウッド平島公園の「ウッド平島公園じゃぶじゃぶ池」は、小さな子どもが遊べる浅瀬の水遊び場です。開放期間は令和8年(2026年)7月1日から8月31日までで、利用は無料。水深が浅いので、水に慣れていない子でも保護者と一緒なら安心して入れます。園内には健康遊具を含む遊具施設と、A・B二面の芝生広場があり、水から上がってからの遊び場にも困りません。東屋とトイレ2棟が整い、駐車場は46台分あるので車での来園もしやすい公園です。芝生にレジャーシートを広げ、東屋の日陰と行き来しながら、夕方まで無理なく過ごせます。

Tips

清掃日(7月10日・17日・24日・31日、8月7日・12日・21日・28日)はじゃぶじゃぶ池を利用できないため、日程を決める前に必ず確認してください。駐車場は46台分と限りがあるので、休日は早めの到着が安心です。園内に売店がない前提で、飲み物と軽食は事前に用意しておきましょう。かかとの留まる水遊び用サンダルと、一人2セットの着替えがあると快適です。

Tips

Admission fees and opening days can change, so check before you visit. The streets of Mameda-machi are narrow and cars pass through, so hold children by the hand. Parking nearby and walking around until lunch is the easiest way to get about.
