This is the Water and Relaxation Plaza (Shirahata Water Distribution Plant) Splash Pool at the Water and Relaxation Plaza in Minami Ward, Saitama City. In 2026 it runs from Wednesday, July 1 to Monday, August 31; the plaza is open 9:00 to 17:00 and the splash pool until 16:30. Every Monday is a cleaning day (the following Tuesday if Monday is a public holiday), and it also closes in bad weather. It has an unusual layout, with the top of the Shirahata water distribution plant opened up as a plaza, and there is a gateball court as well as the splash pool. Use is free and pets are not allowed. Being a familiar waterside right in town, it can also be used casually, such as dropping by on the way home from the station.
Tips
It is closed every Monday for cleaning (the following Tuesday if Monday is a public holiday), so take care not to mistake the day. It also closes in bad weather, so check the day's status on the official Saitama City website before you set out. Note that the splash pool ends at 16:30, half an hour before the plaza closes. Pets are not allowed. After water play, wash feet thoroughly at the tap.
Best time to visit
About 2 hours 40 minutes. After 15:00, when the sun softens, is especially comfortable.
