About this spot

This shrine in Kuraji, Katano City is said to enshrine Orihime the Weaver Princess and is known for its connection to the Tanabata legend. Together with the name of the Amanogawa River (天野川) flowing just nearby and the star-related place names scattered around the area, it shows just how rich a body of legend has accumulated here. The precincts are not too large, and the trees along the approach soften the summer sun, so even families with small children can make a pleasant short circuit. During the Tanabata season, bamboo branches and wish-strips line the grounds, creating a scene full of seasonal feeling. Knowing these local stories at the start of the day makes the afternoon scenery look a little different too.

中の池公園噴水（水遊び広場）は、枚方市の住宅地に囲まれた公園にある無料の水遊びスポットです。2026年のシーズンは6/26(金)から9月中旬までで、時間は9:00〜18:00。終了日が「9月中旬」という表記のため、9月に入ってからは稼働状況を確認してから出かけると確実です。浅瀬の噴水広場という造りで水深が浅く、広場全体が見渡せるので、小さな子どもを遊ばせるときの安心感があります。園内にトイレがあり料金は無料で、18:00まで動いているため、猛暑日は日が傾いてから出かけて夕方の2〜3時間だけ遊ぶという計画も立てられます。近所の公園の延長として、思い立った日に気軽に向かえるのがこの場所の一番の魅力です。

Tips

天候により運転期間が変更になることがあるため、出発前に枚方市の案内で確認してください。噴水の床面はぬれるとすべりやすいので、脱げにくい水遊び用サンダルが安心です。更衣室のない前提で、上から着られるラップタオルやポンチョがあると着替えがスムーズ。日陰は広場のまわりの木の下に限られるので、帽子と日焼け止めは必須です。

Tips

It is a few minutes by car from the direction of Tsuda Station (津田駅) on the JR Gakkentoshi Line (JR学研都市線). The surroundings are residential, so please avoid parking on the street. Worship quietly and refrain from eating and drinking within the precincts. Visitor numbers rise around Tanabata, so early morning is the calmest time.
