The Kurumazuka Park Fountain (車塚公園) is a free water-play spot in a park in Kurumazuka, Hirakata City. The 2026 season runs from Wednesday, April 1 to Saturday, October 31, 9:00 to 17:30, and this fountain's great distinguishing feature is that it operates for more than half a year, from spring through autumn. The volume of water is generous, so it is satisfying to stand under, and it feels good to dry off on the surrounding lawn and then return to the water again. There are restrooms in the park and admission is free. Its excellent location, within walking distance of Hirakatashi Station (枚方市駅) on the Keihan Main Line (京阪本線) and right next to the Hirakata City Central Library (枚方市立中央図書館), also makes planning easier. The operating period may change depending on the weather, and it may also stop temporarily for cleaning, pump replacement and similar work, so just be sure to check before you set out.

Tips

Information on temporary closures can be found in the Hirakata City announcements. The floor around the fountain becomes slippery when wet, so water-play sandals that will not slip off are safest. Assume there are no changing rooms, so having a wrap towel or poncho you can pull on over your clothes makes changing easier. Shade on the lawn is limited to under the trees, so a hat and sunscreen are essential.
