Neyagawa Park Grand Fountain in the Central Plaza is a ground-jet fountain about 20 m across that appears only in summer in the central plaza of Osaka Prefectural Neyagawa Park. In 2026 it operates from Sat 7/4 to Sun 9/27: weekends only from 7/4 to 7/12, every day from Sat 7/18 to Mon 8/31, and weekends and holidays only in September. Because the water rises all at once from the ground, children can wait for the moment it bursts up and then dive in, and those who are nervous about water can keep their distance at their own pace, which is reassuring. The cascade (a flowing stream) runs at the same time, so you can also sit and cool off in the shallow flow. Hours must be checked in the official announcements, and it is cancelled in severe weather. It is free, and the park is large enough that you will not struggle to find a spot to rest.

Tips

The operating days and times change from year to year, so be sure to check the official notices before you leave. The floor with the jet openings is slippery when wet, so sandals that stay on your feet are safest. Assume there are no changing rooms and bring a wrap towel or poncho you can pull on over your clothes to make changing easy. Shade is limited to the trees around the edge of the plaza, so sunscreen and a hat are essential.

Best time to visit

Allow about 2 hours from 13:30. Around 15:00, as the afternoon sun softens a little, is the most comfortable stretch of the day.
