Uchiagegawa Flood Control Green Space (打上川治水緑地)

About this spot

Spreading north of Neyagawa Park, this flood control green space is normally open as a place of recreation for local residents. Grassland stretches as far as you can see, threaded with narrow channels and walking paths, opening into a view you would hardly expect in a city. In summer there are plenty of dragonflies and grasshoppers, so simply bringing a bug net gives children a destination. With few tall buildings around, you can enjoy a thoroughly summer scene: the ridgeline towards Mt. Iimori to the east and towering thunderclouds overhead. Choose a shady spot, spread a picnic sheet, and you have exactly the right amount of room for lunch.

寝屋川公園中央広場の大噴水は、大阪府営寝屋川公園の中央広場に夏だけ現れる直径約20mの地面噴出型の噴水です。2026年は7/4(土)〜9/27(日)の稼働で、7/4〜7/12は土日のみ、7/18(土)〜8/31(月)は毎日、9月は土日祝のみの運転となります。地面から一斉に水が立ち上がるタイプなので、噴き出す瞬間を待ち構えて飛び込むという遊び方ができ、水が苦手な子でも自分のペースで距離を取れるのが安心なところです。同時にカスケード（流れ）も動き、浅い流れに座って涼むこともできます。時間は公式の告知を要確認で、荒天時は中止になります。料金は無料で、広い公園なので休憩場所にも困りません。

Tips

稼働日と時刻は年によって変わるため、出発前に必ず公式のお知らせを確認してください。噴き出し口のある床面はぬれるとすべりやすいので、脱げにくいサンダルが安心です。更衣室のない前提で、上から着られるラップタオルやポンチョを用意しておくと着替えがスムーズ。日陰は広場の周縁の木の下に限られるので、日焼け止めと帽子は必須です。

Tips

It is designed to hold water during heavy rain, so access may be restricted on rainy days and immediately afterwards. Shade is limited to the trees along the paths, so bring a hat and plenty to drink. Insects are numerous at this time of year, so repellent makes things more comfortable.
