Shotengu Saikoji Temple

About this spot

This temple stands on high ground close to the entrance of the waterfall path from Hankyu Minoh Station. Climb the stone steps and quiet, tree-surrounded precincts open up, making the bustle of the shopping street just below feel unreal. It is said to have been founded by En no Gyoja (役行者), and it lets you touch the older layers of faith on Mount Minoh. From the precincts you can look down over the town of Minoh and confirm from above the shape of the valley you walked through in the morning. Drop in here to rest the legs you used on the round trip along the waterfall path and to steady your breathing for the afternoon.

紅葉ガ丘児童水遊場は、箕面市が夏期のみ開設する無料の児童水遊場です。2026年の開場は7/20(月)〜8/31(月)の10:30〜15:30で、12:00〜13:00は昼休憩、雨天は閉場になります。利用できるのは小学3年生以下で、保護者の同伴が必要です。監視員が配置されているのがこの水遊場の大きな特徴で、水深の浅さと合わせて、水にまだ慣れていない子どもでも落ち着いて過ごせる環境が整っています。箕面の山のふもとという立地なので、午前に滝道を歩いてから下りてきてもすぐ着ける距離感が計画を立てやすくしてくれます。料金は無料で、近所の公園に出かける感覚で立ち寄れます。

Tips

12:00〜13:00は昼休憩で閉場するので、この時間をまたぐ計画は立てないでください。雨天は閉場になるため、天気が微妙な日は出発前に箕面市の案内で確認を。対象は小学3年生以下なので、上の子がいる家庭は過ごし方を分けて考えておきましょう。更衣室のない前提で、上から着られるラップタオルやポンチョを用意しておくと着替えがスムーズです。

Tips

There are stone steps, so if you are tired, visiting only around the main gate is perfectly fine. Keep your visit quiet, and as a rule refrain from eating or drinking in the precincts. It sits right on the way back from the waterfall path, so building it into your route wastes no time.
