Momijigaoka Children's Water Play Area

The Momijigaoka Children's Water Play Area is a free children's water play area that Minoh City opens only in summer. In 2026 it is open from Monday 20 July to Monday 31 August, 10:30 to 15:30, with a lunch break from 12:00 to 13:00 and closure on rainy days. It is for children up to third grade of elementary school, and a guardian must accompany them. Having attendants on duty is this area's biggest feature, and together with the shallow water it creates an environment where even children not yet used to water can settle in. Being located at the foot of the Minoh mountains, it is close enough to reach right after walking the waterfall path in the morning, which makes planning easy. It is free of charge, so you can drop by as casually as visiting a neighbourhood park.

Tips

It closes for a lunch break from 12:00 to 13:00, so do not make plans that span that period. It also closes in rain, so on doubtful days check Minoh City's information before you set out. It is for children up to third grade of elementary school, so families with older children should plan separate activities for them. Assume there are no changing rooms and bring a wrap towel or poncho you can pull on over your clothes to make changing smoother.

Best time to visit

Two hours, from 13:20 until closing at 15:30. That is an easy amount of play even after walking the waterfall path
