The Shinmachi Minami Park Water Feature (Fountain) is a free water play spot in Shinmachi Minami Park, Matsubara City. The 2026 season runs from Friday, May 1 to Saturday, October 31. From July to September it operates 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-16:00, in May, June and October 11:00-12:00 and 13:00-14:00, and from November to April only on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 to 11:30. The fountain shoots high and is impressive, and a Japanese-garden stream runs nearby, so being able to choose between powerful water and quiet shallows depending on your mood is the particular pleasure of this park. The grounds also have large play equipment, so you can move between the playground and the water while drying off. There is no parking lot, so plan on coming by train or bicycle. Admission is free.

Tips

There is no parking lot, so coming on foot or by bicycle from a station on the Kintetsu Minami-Osaka Line is the basic approach. The fountain's operating hours are set month by month, so check the times for the day on Matsubara City's information page before you set out. From July to September it also runs from 13:00 to 16:00 after a midday break, so instead of finishing in the morning you can plan to go out for lunch and come back in the afternoon. The floor gets slippery when wet, so water sandals that stay on your feet are safest.
