Reputed Tomb of Wani (伝王仁墓)

About this spot

This site in Fujisaka Higashimachi, Hirakata City, is handed down as the grave of Dr. Wani, who is said to have brought the Analects and the Thousand Character Classic here in ancient times. It is a quiet corner ringed by trees, and in the morning there is almost no one about, so you can take your time listening to birdsong. A stone monument and an information board stand here, giving you an opening to tell your children about the old ties between Osaka and the Korean Peninsula. It is not large, so the visit is short, but knowing this local background at the entrance to a day of play changes how the park looks to you afterward. There is plenty of shade in summer, so dropping by in the morning before the heat builds is recommended.

山田池公園流れ（せせらぎ水遊び場）は、南地区の芝生広場横に設けられた約170mの人工水路です。2026年のシーズンは5/1(金)〜9/30(水)の8:00〜15:00、夏休み期間の7/17〜8/31は8:00〜16:00に延長されます。水深が浅く流れもゆるやかなので、歩き始めの子どもでも自分の足で上流へ下流へと移動しながら遊べるのが魅力です。長い水路なので、混雑する日でも場所を選べば自分たちのペースで過ごせます。8/12(水)は清掃のため終日休止になる点だけ、出発前に必ず確認しておきましょう。園内にトイレと駐車場がそろい、料金は無料なので、手ぶらに近い装備で夏の午後をまるごと使えます。

Tips

水路の底は場所によってすべりやすいので、脱げにくい水遊び用サンダルがあると安心です。更衣室はない前提で、上から着られるラップタオルやポンチョを用意しておくと着替えがスムーズ。日陰は水路沿いの木の下に限られるので、日焼け止めと帽子は必須です。8:00から開いているため、猛暑日は午前の早い時間に切り替える計画も立てられます。

Tips

It is within walking distance of Fujisaka Station on the JR Gakkentoshi Line (JR学研都市線); by car, use a nearby parking lot. Facilities on the grounds are minimal, so plan on using the restrooms after you move to Yamadaike Park. Reading the information boards together as a family, you can go around in about 10 minutes.
