Yamadaike Park Stream (Seseragi water-play area)
About this spot
The Yamadaike Park Stream (Seseragi water-play area) is an artificial channel of about 170 meters set beside the Lawn Plaza in the south district. The 2026 season runs from Friday, May 1 to Wednesday, September 30, 8:00-15:00, extended to 8:00-16:00 during the summer holidays from July 17 to August 31. The water is shallow and the flow gentle, so even children just learning to walk can move upstream and downstream on their own feet as they play, and that is the appeal. Because the channel is long, you can pick your spot and keep to your own pace even on busy days. Just make sure before you set out that you know it is closed all day on Wednesday, August 12 for cleaning. Restrooms and parking are available in the park and admission is free, so you can use a whole summer afternoon with almost nothing to carry.

Tips
The bed of the channel is slippery in places, so water sandals that will not slip off are reassuring. Assume there are no changing rooms and bring a wrap towel or poncho you can pull on over your clothes to make changing easy. Shade is limited to the area under the trees along the channel, so sunscreen and a hat are essential. Since it opens at 8:00, on extremely hot days you can also plan to shift to the early morning hours.
Best time to visit
Arrive at 13:00 and you have a full two hours until the 15:00 closing. During the summer holidays the hours are extended to 16:00
