About this spot

This is a broad grassy plaza in the south district, and more than anything else it is valuable for sitting right beside the water-play area. Large trees line its edges, so choosing a shaded spot for your picnic sheet makes lunchtime far more comfortable. After eating, children can run around on the grass and still stay within sight, letting the adults stay seated and relaxed. Gathering your belongings here also means you can use this spot as a base for changing and resting after the water play. Planning to bring your own lunch rather than relying on a kiosk lets you enjoy the day without worrying about the crowded hours.

山田池公園流れ（せせらぎ水遊び場）は、南地区の芝生広場横に設けられた約170mの人工水路です。2026年のシーズンは5/1(金)〜9/30(水)の8:00〜15:00、夏休み期間の7/17〜8/31は8:00〜16:00に延長されます。水深が浅く流れもゆるやかなので、歩き始めの子どもでも自分の足で上流へ下流へと移動しながら遊べるのが魅力です。長い水路なので、混雑する日でも場所を選べば自分たちのペースで過ごせます。8/12(水)は清掃のため終日休止になる点だけ、出発前に必ず確認しておきましょう。園内にトイレと駐車場がそろい、料金は無料なので、手ぶらに近い装備で夏の午後をまるごと使えます。

Tips

水路の底は場所によってすべりやすいので、脱げにくい水遊び用サンダルがあると安心です。更衣室はない前提で、上から着られるラップタオルやポンチョを用意しておくと着替えがスムーズ。日陰は水路沿いの木の下に限られるので、日焼け止めと帽子は必須です。8:00から開いているため、猛暑日は午前の早い時間に切り替える計画も立てられます。

Tips

Rather than going into the water right after eating, it is safer to rest for about 30 minutes before moving on. Shaded spots fill up from late morning, so looking at where the trees stand and deciding your place first keeps things smooth. Taking your trash home is the rule, so bring plenty of bags.
