The Kameyama Park Seseragi Waterway in Kameyama Park (亀山公園) in Nakanoshima-cho, Hita City, is a shallow flow of water laid out for children to play in. According to the official Hita City page the open period runs from July 1 to August 31, covering the whole of the summer holidays. The park is centered on Mount Hinokuma (日隈山) along the Mikuma River (三隈川), part of the Chikugo River (筑後川) system, and under the trees where the river breeze passes through it feels considerably more comfortable even at the height of summer. There is a slide and swings beside the waterway, so when children tire of the water they can move to the equipment and back to the water again as the mood takes them, which is this park's great charm. The western side of the park is known for its cherry blossoms, and in summer deep green shade spreads across it. Enjoy the view of the Mikuma River and spend a relaxed afternoon here until evening.

Tips

The bed of the waterway is slippery in places, so bring water sandals with heel straps. Spots where you can lay a picnic sheet in the shade are limited, so arriving early to secure a shady place makes it far more comfortable. Since the park is close to the Mikuma River, an adult must always accompany children when going to the riverside. Two sets of spare clothes per person is reassuring.
