About this spot

Wanpaku Okoku's biggest attraction is the long roller slide built into the hillside. A large dinosaur-shaped structure sits on the slope, and the slide is designed to send you rushing down through and alongside its body. Because it's a long ride, there's a big sense of accomplishment when you reach the bottom, and children tend to climb the stairs and slide down again and again. The surroundings are ringed with trees, so it's a relief to be able to stand in the shade while waiting your turn. Getting your body moving here before going into the water makes the waterside area feel even more refreshing in the afternoon.

Tips

This slide tends to be hard on your seat, so many families bring cardboard or a dedicated sliding mat. Long pants or thicker clothing make for a more comfortable ride. The stairs up are quite a climb, so an adult should accompany small children.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. Even during hours of strong sunlight, the slope has plenty of shade and stays relatively comfortable.
