Gas & Life Yamoto Seaside Green Park Water Play Area

About this spot

The Gas & Life Yamoto Seaside Green Park Water Play Area, spread along the coast of Higashi-Matsushima City. A fountain water play area sits inside the playground plaza and is free to enjoy as you like. Right beside it are an air-filled bouncy dome and a wide lawn plaza, so children can spend long hours at their own pace: the play equipment when they tire of the water, back to the water when they tire of running. There is also a barbecue area and toilets, making it easy for families to use as a base for the day. From April to September the opening hours run from 8:30 to 18:00, long enough to play until the sun softens in the evening. Being close to the sea, the breeze passes through, and some days it feels more comfortable than inland.

Tips

The opening period has not been announced; in past years it has run during the summer holidays. Check the facility's information for that day's status before you set out. The park opens at 8:30 and closes at 18:00, so wrapping up the water play around 17:00 to allow time for tidying up and changing leaves you plenty of room to get home. There is little to block the sun along the coast, so sunscreen, hats and something that creates shade are reassuring. Even where the water is shallow, never take your eyes off the children and always have an adult with them. The surface of the bouncy dome can get hot during the day, so check the temperature before stepping on it barefoot.

Best time to visit

About 3 hours 40 minutes. From the afternoon into the evening, when the sun softens, is the most comfortable
