This is the Miyagi Zao Eboshi Resort Fuwafuwa Water Play Plaza in Zao Town, Miyagi Prefecture. In 2026 it opens on Saturday, 25 July. Built as inflatable play equipment filled with water, the base is soft, so little ones will not hurt themselves if they tumble. The venue also runs a programme called Summer Holidays at Eboshi with a rainbow trout fishing pond, flowing somen noodles and barbecue, so when children tire of the water they can move on to something else, which is what makes a long day here possible. High on the plateau, the air is cooler than on the plains and it stays pleasant even in midsummer. Playing at the foot of slopes that serve as a ski area in winter is an experience unique to this place.
