This large shopping center in Izumi Ward has a food court, restaurants and a full range of specialty shops. Its strength is that everyone can be satisfied even when the children's tastes differ, making it an easy base to use around midday. The air-conditioned interior also works nicely as a rest stop to cool down before playing outside. If you buy the towels, swim diapers and drinks you need for water play here all at once, you can focus on playing in the afternoon. There are nursing rooms and baby rest rooms as well, so it works as a midday base even with an infant.

仙台市泉区の桂中央公園にある、無料の「桂中央公園水遊び場」です。入口の正面に水遊びスポットがあるため、着いてすぐ子どもが駆け出せる分かりやすさが魅力になっています。園内には芝生広場と遊具、遊歩道、バスケットゴールがそろっていて、小さな子から小学生の上の学年まで一緒に過ごせるのがうれしいところです。住宅街の中心に位置する公園なので、周囲の道は歩きやすく、荷物が多くても移動が苦になりません。料金は無料なので、夕方に少しだけ涼みに寄るといった気軽な使い方もできます。

開設期間は未発表で、例年は夏休み期間の運用です。出かける前に仙台市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。水深は浅くても目を離さず、大人が必ず付き添ってください。日陰は木の下やベンチ周りに限られるので、帽子と飲み物、休憩用のレジャーシートを忘れずに。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意してください。遊んだあとは足元をよく流し、着替えてから帰ると体が冷えません。

Tips

The food court gets crowded around noon on weekends and holidays, so shifting a little earlier or after 1 p.m. makes it easier to get a seat. The parking lot is large, so parking near the exit on the park side shortens your next move. Securing plastic bags and spare towels for the afternoon water play makes the trip home easier.
