Nanatsumori Lakeside Park

This is a lush green park laid out on the shore of Lake Nanatsumori. Walking paths run along the lake, and you can gaze at the mountain range opposite while walking in the shade of the trees. True to the name Nanatsumori, meaning seven forests, several small mountains stand in a row, so simply counting how many you can see gives the whole family a purpose for the walk. Breezes come off the lake, so the shade feels cooler than expected even in summer. Since you want to save energy for the afternoon water play, keep the walking distance to a manageable stretch.

宮城県大和町にある、無料の「立輪水辺公園せせらぎ(小川)の水遊び場」です。園内を流れる小川は川幅30〜50センチ程度で、深さも足首ほどしかないため、歩き始めたばかりの子でも大人が手を添えれば安心して水にふれられます。脇には芝生広場が広がり、レジャーシートを敷いて拠点をつくれば、水と休憩を何度も行き来できます。かまどが備えられているので、ルールを守れば温かい食事を用意することもできます。駐車場とトイレが整っていて、着替えや休憩の心配が少ないのも家族連れにはありがたいところ。料金は無料なので、夕方に少しだけ涼みに立ち寄る使い方もできます。

Tips

Insects are common in summer, so repellent and a light long-sleeved top bring peace of mind. Shops are limited, so prepare drinks in advance. Checking where the restrooms are when you arrive makes everything afterward easier. Rubbish must generally be taken home.
