Takekoma Shrine

About this spot

This shrine stands in the center of Iwanuma City and is counted as one of the three great Inari shrines of Japan. The long approach and the great two-story gate have enough presence to tell even a child that they have arrived somewhere special. The precincts are spacious and the trees soften the sunlight, which suits a summer morning walk. Touching the water at the purification basin, ringing the bell and putting hands together is a sequence that even small children pick up easily. Since the whole day will be spent with water, starting out with a feeling of gratitude toward water makes for a fitting beginning.

宮城県岩沼市の「岩沼市子どもの遊びと交流基地 miiina みずあそび広場」です。屋外にはみずあそびとどろあそびのエリアがあり、水をすくって泥をこねるという子どもがいちばん夢中になる遊びを思いきりできます。屋内には東北で初めて導入された水遊び遊具とボールプールがあり、約2,300平方メートルの広さの屋内遊び場が用意されています。屋外と屋内の両方に水の遊び場があるため、急な雨や強すぎる日ざしにも計画が崩れません。料金は市民300円、市外600円で、施設は9:00から17:00まで、夏季は18:00まで開いています。第2・第4火曜と年末年始は休館なので、その日を避けて計画してください。

Tips

開設期間は未発表で、例年は夏休み期間の運用です。出かける前に岩沼市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。屋外は泥で汚れるため、着替えは多めに、汚れた服と靴を入れるビニール袋を必ず用意しましょう。屋内に移る前に泥をしっかり落とすルールがあるので、現地の案内に従ってください。水深は浅くても目を離さず、大人が必ず付き添ってください。休館日は第2・第4火曜なので、火曜に出かける場合は日付を必ず確かめてください。

Tips

The precincts are a quiet place, so agreeing with the children in advance not to run around makes things go smoothly. Parts of the approach are gravel, so there are stretches where a stroller is hard to push. Mosquitoes appear in summer, so insect repellent makes the visit more comfortable. Reception hours at the amulet office vary by day. There is a parking lot, so you can also stop by car.
