The Otsuboike Park Fountain Plaza (大坪池公園 噴水広場) is a ground-level fountain that runs only in summer, set in one corner of Otsuboike Park (the Welfare Culture Park) in Miyazaki City. The city officially describes the corner of the park with its ground-level fountain as filled all day long with the happy shouts of children, and because the water shoots up from the ground, even small children can play safely without worrying about depth. It is scheduled to open from July through the end of September, and the long hours of 8:00 to 19:00 make it easy to drop by whenever suits you, morning or evening. The park has a lawn area, play equipment and walking paths, so when children tire of the water they can move to the play equipment, and when they get cold they can rest on the lawn, keeping going at their own pace. With one gazebo and two benches, adults can watch from the shade.

Miyazaki City's official page does not state the 2026 opening period explicitly. The 2026 edition of a local parenting magazine lists it as July 1 (Mon), but July 1, 2026 falls on a Wednesday, so the day of the week does not match and it may be carried over from the previous year's listing. Check whether it is running that day in Miyazaki City's park information before you visit. The area around the fountain gets slippery when wet, so remind children not to run. The water runs until 19:00, so you can also use it to escape the daytime heat and play from evening on.
