About this spot

The Central Plaza of Kobayashi General Sports Park sets aside a broad 6,480-square-metre lawn, an unbeatable spot for spreading a mat and eating a packed lunch. There are 5 gazebos, so on days with strong sunshine you also have the option of claiming a place under a roof. Because you can have lunch right beside the water play area you will use in the afternoon, it is convenient to change clothes and head straight for the water once you have finished. Vending machines mean you can top up if you run short of drinks. After eating, let everyone rest a little and get ready for the afternoon in the water.

「小林総合運動公園中央広場水遊び場」は、小林市にある無料の水遊びスポットです。噴水から流れ出た水が水深の浅い小川になっているつくりで、流れをたどって歩いたり、石でせき止めてみたりと、遊具のない自由さがかえって子どもの遊び心を刺激します。稼働は4月から11月まで、時間は9:30〜17:30と長く、真夏だけでなく春や秋の暖かい日にも立ち寄れるのがこの場所の強みです。同じ広場に令和4年度に改修されたコンビネーション遊具と6,480平方メートルの芝生があるので、水と遊具を行き来しながら長く過ごせます。東屋5棟と自販機が整っていて、家族での長い滞在にも向いています。

12月から3月は凍結の可能性があるため停止します。小林市の公式ページは「中央広場」の施設概要のみで水遊び場の稼働期間は明示されておらず、この期間は指定管理のひいらぎアリーナの案内によるものなので、訪れる前に当日の稼働を確認しましょう。春や秋は水が冷たく感じるため、着替えとタオルを多めに用意しておくと安心です。小川の底は滑りやすいことがあるので、すべりにくいサンダルで入りましょう。17時30分に終了となるため、着替えの時間を見込んで早めに切り上げ始めると余裕があります。

Tips

Going into the water right after eating can easily upset the stomach, so taking a break of about 30 minutes before moving on to water play is recommended. Rubbish must be taken home as a rule, so bring plenty of bags. The gazebos are popular, so on busy days deciding on your place early lets you settle in calmly.
