This library is set inside a downtown community exchange center in central Miyakonojo City. Wooden shelves line a high-ceilinged, open space, and the children's book corner is designed so that raised voices do not feel out of place, making it easy to enter even with little ones. The air conditioning also makes it a reliable spot to cool off after a morning outdoors. Because you can eat within the same complex, families can finish lunch without moving on, which is a real help with children along. Use this as quiet rest time ahead of the afternoon water play.

「早水公園せせらぎ水路」は、都城市の早水公園にある、髪長媛ゆかりの泉水を水源とする水路と親水広場です。開設は7月1日(水)から9月30日(水)まで、時間は9:00〜17:00で、水深は浅く小さな子でも安心して入れます。同じ園内に児童プールや遊具があり、水路に飽きたら別の遊びへ移れるので、長い時間いても子どもが飽きません。ベンチ3台と売店・自販機があるため、大人は座って見守りながら飲み物を調達できます。伝説の泉水にちなむ場所で遊ぶという体験そのものが、都城ならではの夏の思い出になります。

Tips

金曜は清掃のため利用できません。都城市の公式ページには「親水広場」の記載のみで2026年の稼働期間は明示されておらず、期間は地元の子育て情報誌2026年版と都城市道路公園課の掲載によるものなので、訪れる前に当日の稼働を確認しましょう。おむつが外れていない子どもとペットは利用できません。水路の底は滑りやすいことがあるので、すべりにくいサンダルで入りましょう。17時に終了となるため、着替えの時間を見込んで16時40分ごろには切り上げ始めると余裕があります。

Tips
