The Miyazaki Prefectural Agricultural Science Park Lupinus Park Waterland (宮崎県農業科学公園ルピナスパーク ウォーターランド) is a water-friendly facility in Takanabe, Koyu District, for experiencing the water essential to agriculture. As officially stated, this is not a swimming facility, it's designed for touching the water, watching it flow, and dipping your feet in rather than swimming. It operates from around April 29 through mid-September, sometimes extending to around mid-October depending on the weather, with hours of roughly 9:30 to 16:30. Admission is free, and since it stays open for a long stretch from Golden Week into early autumn, a major advantage is that you can also visit during pleasant weather outside the height of summer. It sits within a spacious agricultural park, so you can also stroll around the grounds after your water play.

The sloped channels are slippery and off-limits, please follow the posted signage while playing. Children of elementary school age and younger must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants still in diapers and pets are not permitted. The flowing water is not drinking water, so be sure to bring your own beverages. The official website does not list specific 2026 dates, so checking operating status before you set out is the safest bet. Since it closes around 16:30, starting to wrap up by 16:00 leaves enough time to change.
