Inari Park Water-Play Pond (稲荷公園 親水池)

About this spot

The Inari Park Water-Play Pond (稲荷公園 親水池) is a free water-play area in Inari Park, one of Toyama City's comprehensive parks. Toyama City's official introduction to its comprehensive parks lists the water-play pond among this park's facilities. The operating period has not been announced, but in ordinary years water is supplied in two stretches, from spring to early summer and during the summer holidays, so whether there is water depends on the season. The grounds include Wanpaku Playground, a sports field, an arbor, a lawn plaza and a combination play structure, so children can keep playing at their own pace, moving to the equipment when they tire of the water and back to the water when they tire of the equipment, which is what makes this park so good. Close to the city center, it also has the easygoing appeal of a place you can drop into for just a short while.

Tips

The water-supply period changes from year to year, so before you visit, check with Toyama City or read the notices posted in the park to confirm the situation on the day. The bottom of the pond is slippery, so footwear that protects the feet, such as water shoes, is reassuring. Change quickly using the tree shade or a towel poncho. Getting out of the water once every 30 minutes to drink and take a break helps prevent heat exhaustion. For children not yet out of diapers, prepare swim diapers.

Best time to visit
