Inari Park (稲荷公園)

Flow of the course

About this spot

The lawn plaza in Inari Park (稲荷公園) is a spacious rest spot with tree shade and an arbor. It is right beside the water-play pond, so you can arrange your route to move straight from lunch to the water. Thanks to the arbor, you can take shelter under a roof if the sun suddenly beats down or a passing shower comes through, which is reassuring. Going into the water right after eating is hard on the body, so this schedule leaves enough slack to relax a while before changing. Deciding where to leave your belongings first lets you watch the children calmly during the water play.

Tips

Preparing and bringing your own bento and drinks is the surest plan. As a rule you take your rubbish home, so bring plenty of bags. The arbor is popular, so on busy days it is reassuring to claim your spot early. Resting for about 30 minutes after eating before moving on to the water makes it less likely anyone will feel unwell.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. Spending the noon hour, when the sun is strongest, in the shade is the right call
