About this spot

A site in Asahi Town where the remains of a Jomon-period settlement have been designated a national historic site. It is especially known for the remains of a large pit dwelling; step inside the reconstructed building and its sheer size conveys how many people must have gathered here at the time. It is maintained as an outdoor historic park, so you can walk across the lawn and look around freely. Learning that people lived on this land thousands of years ago, and then playing in the afternoon at a brand-new park, makes the passage of time feel strangely long. Reading the displays and explanatory signs together with your children deepens their understanding.

「あさひ未来パークじゃぶじゃぶ池」は、朝日町の泊駅南に整備された新しい公園「あさひ未来パーク」にある水遊び場です。遊具広場は2026年5月2日に部分開園したばかりで、屋根付きの大型遊具が児童用・幼児用・乳幼児用の3エリアに分けられているのが大きな特徴です。屋根があるおかげで真夏でも遊具が熱くなりすぎず、日差しを避けながら遊べるのは新しい公園ならではの造りといえます。年齢別にエリアが分かれているので、きょうだいの年が離れていても安心して見ていられます。じゃぶじゃぶ池の通水期間は町公式に記載がないため、訪れる前に確認しておくのが確実です。町公式は「じゃぶじゃぶ池の注意事項」として、滑りやすいので走らないよう案内しています。

町公式が「滑りやすいので走らない」と案内しています。遊ぶ前に必ず子どもと約束しておきましょう。じゃぶじゃぶ池の通水期間と利用料金は町公式に記載がないため、訪れる前に朝日町へ確認してください。開園して間もない公園なので、設備や利用ルールが変わることがあります。現地の掲示も見ておくと安心です。泊駅の南側にあるので、電車で訪れることもできます。30分に一度は水から上がって水分を取り、日陰で休憩をはさみながら遊んでください。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意しましょう。

Tips

It is an outdoor historic site with little shade, so a hat and drinks are essential. Check the Asahi Town information in advance for whether the interior of the reconstructed dwelling is open and how to view it. The lawn can get muddy after rain, so shoes you do not mind dirtying are reassuring. Looking up the location of the parking area before you set out saves confusion.
