Asahi Mirai Park Splash Pool
About this spot
The Asahi Mirai Park Splash Pool is a water play spot at Asahi Mirai Park, a new park laid out south of Tomari Station (泊駅) in Asahi Town. The play equipment area only opened in part on 2 May 2026, and its big feature is that the large covered play structures are divided into three areas for school-age children, preschoolers and infants. Thanks to the roofs, the equipment does not get too hot even in midsummer, and being able to play out of the sun is very much a feature of a newly built park. Because the areas are divided by age, you can watch over siblings with confidence even when they are far apart in years. The town's official information does not state the period when water runs in the splash pool, so checking before you visit is the sure approach. As notes on using the splash pool, the town advises not to run because the surface is slippery.

Tips
The town officially advises not to run because the surface is slippery, so be sure to agree on this with your children before they play. The period when water runs in the splash pool and the usage fees are not stated in the town's official information, so check with Asahi Town before your visit. The park opened only recently, so facilities and rules of use may change; looking at the on-site notices is reassuring. It is on the south side of Tomari Station, so you can also come by train. Get out of the water once every 30 minutes to drink and rest in the shade between play sessions. Children who are not yet out of nappies should have swim nappies ready.
Best time to visit
About 2 hours 30 minutes. The afternoon, when the sun softens, is recommended, and the covered play structures give you somewhere to escape even during the hottest hours
