About this spot

This is the free water play spot at Atagoyama Owl Park in Iwakuni City. The equipment lets you play with fountains and mist, and it is clearly marked on the official Iwakuni City guide map as Water Park. Right beside it are a large owl-themed combination playset and an inclusive playground area where everyone can play together, so you can move between the water and the play equipment and stay for a long time. There is a 995 square metre covered plaza, which is reassuring because you can switch play areas when the sun is strong or rain comes suddenly. There is also a 1.5 hectare lawn and an outdoor stage, so the park as a whole can carry a whole day.

Tips

The operating period and hours are not published by the city. Before you set out, please contact the Iwakuni City Park Facilities Division (0827-29-5160) to check. A redback spider was found in the park on 24 July 2026 and the city is warning visitors not to touch them with bare hands. Tell children before they play that they should not touch insects they do not know. During the hours of strong sun, take breaks in the covered plaza and drink often. Bringing a change of clothes and a towel for each person is reassuring.
