This swing bridge spans a canal in the Ikuji district of Kurobe City, and its deck rotates horizontally whenever a boat needs to pass. Mechanisms like this are rare nationwide, and children stare wide-eyed if they happen to catch it in motion. Ikuji is known for the spring water called shozu (清水) that surfaces all over town, and simply walking around the bridge shows how closely water and daily life are intertwined. Dipping your hand into the cold spring gives a very different sensation from the waterside area later in the day. Strolling the narrow lanes of this fishing port town is another experience found only here.

「道の駅KOKOくろべ水辺エリア」は、黒部市の道の駅KOKOくろべにある無料の水遊び場です。深さは足首ほどなので、歩き始めたばかりの子でも保護者と一緒なら入りやすいのが特徴です。公式は「足のケガ防止・転倒防止のためウォーターサンダル・シューズの着用」と、「プール用おむつのみ・下着のみなど肌の露出が多い状態は避け着衣で利用」することを案内しています。開設期間は未発表ですが、夜間凍結の恐れがなくなり次第通水すると公式が告知しています。施設は年中無休で8:30から21:00まで開いているので、混雑を避けて夕方に立ち寄る使い方もできます。ペットの入水は不可ですが、ふわふわドーム、築山のすべり台、木製遊具のキッズフロアも併設されていて、水に飽きたら遊具へと移れます。

ウォーターサンダルやウォーターシューズの着用が公式に案内されています。素足やビーチサンダルではなく、足を固定できる履き物を用意してください。プール用おむつのみ・下着のみといった肌の露出が多い状態は避け、着衣で遊びましょう。ペットは水に入れられません。通水の開始時期は未発表なので、訪れる前に道の駅の公式情報を確認してください。道の駅なので飲食や買い物ができ、着替えや飲み物の調達もその場でできます。30分に一度は日陰で休憩し、水分をこまめに取りましょう。
