Nakahara Chuya Memorial Museum (中原中也記念館)

About this spot

A literary museum in Yamaguchi City introducing the life and works of Nakahara Chuya, a poet born in Yuda Onsen. Built on the site of his birthplace, it conveys the atmosphere of the town the poet lived in through manuscripts, personal belongings and photographs. The exhibition rooms are compact, so even families with small children can go around once while concentration lasts. Even if the content of the poems is hard to grasp, simply telling children that these are words written by someone born in this town changes how they look at it. It is within walking distance of Konkon Park, so once you park the car you can cover the whole morning on foot, which is very convenient.

2025年6月1日にオープンした山口市の交流拠点施設、その屋外エリアにあるのが「湯田温泉こんこんパーク噴水広場」です。噴水はミスト状なので、びしょ濡れにならずに程よく水遊びができ、着替えの負担が軽いのが小さな子連れにはうれしいところ。となりには白狐をモチーフにした大型遊具のある芝生広場が広がり、水と遊具を行き来しながら長く過ごせます。無料の足湯があるので、遊び疲れたら湯田温泉らしい休み方ができるのもここならでは。2階デッキにはアソビバエリア・お絵描きエリア・屋外飲食エリアがあり、日差しが強い時間や休憩の場所にも困りません。利用は無料です。

屋外の噴水広場は常時開放されていますが、噴水の稼働期間・時間は公表されていません。出かける前に施設(083-922-8009)へ確認してください。施設駐車場は入庫から最初の1時間が無料、以降は1時間100円です。ミストとはいえ髪や服は湿るので、タオルと着替えを用意しておくと快適です。足湯を使うなら小さなタオルも忘れずに。夕方は風が出て体が冷えることがあるため、羽織るものが1枚あると安心です。
