About this spot

A park in the middle of the Yuda Onsen town, known as the birthplace of the Meiji-era statesman Inoue Kaoru. A footbath is set up in the grounds, where you can sit down mid-stroll and warm your feet. Even in summer the footbath is popular, and the curious thing is that after dipping your feet in the hot water, the breeze feels all the cooler. There are many trees and plenty of shade, making it just the right place to rest bodies tired from the morning's walking. It is a short walk from the Nakahara Chuya Memorial Museum (中原中也記念館), so you can move while taking in the streetscape of Yuda Onsen.

2025年6月1日にオープンした山口市の交流拠点施設、その屋外エリアにあるのが「湯田温泉こんこんパーク噴水広場」です。噴水はミスト状なので、びしょ濡れにならずに程よく水遊びができ、着替えの負担が軽いのが小さな子連れにはうれしいところ。となりには白狐をモチーフにした大型遊具のある芝生広場が広がり、水と遊具を行き来しながら長く過ごせます。無料の足湯があるので、遊び疲れたら湯田温泉らしい休み方ができるのもここならでは。2階デッキにはアソビバエリア・お絵描きエリア・屋外飲食エリアがあり、日差しが強い時間や休憩の場所にも困りません。利用は無料です。

Tips

屋外の噴水広場は常時開放されていますが、噴水の稼働期間・時間は公表されていません。出かける前に施設(083-922-8009)へ確認してください。施設駐車場は入庫から最初の1時間が無料、以降は1時間100円です。ミストとはいえ髪や服は湿るので、タオルと着替えを用意しておくと快適です。足湯を使うなら小さなタオルも忘れずに。夕方は風が出て体が冷えることがあるため、羽織るものが1枚あると安心です。

Tips

Since you will use the footbath, having one small towel is handy. On summer days the water can feel hot, so keep small children to a short soak. Check the footbath's hours and closed days in the on-site information. Lunch afterwards can be taken at restaurants in the surrounding hot-spring town. Comfortable walking shoes make the stroll more pleasant.
