Toyotomi Silk-no-Sato Park Stream Water Play Area
About this spot
The Toyotomi Silk-no-Sato Park Stream Water Play Area is a free water play spot that makes use of the shallow stream running through the park. Unlike an artificial pool, it is a near-natural flow with stones and grass, so children discover their own ways to play, scooping up water or turning over stones to look for creatures. Depending on the season, fish-catching by hand is also held, and the cheer at the moment of a catch becomes an unforgettable memory. A pond with a waterfall is right nearby, where you can stay cool listening to the sound of the water. The park is open 9:00 to 18:00 from April to September, and the Silk Friendly hot spring facility and the Toyotomi Local History Museum (豊富郷土資料館) are also on the grounds. If everyone is worn out from playing, you can finish the day by washing off the sweat in the hot spring before heading home.

Tips
Use is free. The water play period has not been announced (usually summer), so be sure to check the official Chuo City page (https://www.city.chuo.yamanashi.jp/parenting/odekakenabi/park/3169.html) before setting out. Fish-catching by hand is held only on limited days, so check that at the same time. There are stones on the streambed, so water shoes are safer. After rain the current can grow stronger, so look at the water volume and do not push it. If you plan to wash off at the Silk Friendly hot spring facility on the way home, a separate bathing towel is handy.
Best time to visit
Arriving at 13:30 lets you enjoy the cool, shaded hours for a long stretch until evening.
